Jalen Hurts’ mom chimes in on AJ Brown rumors, throws cold water on the drama

Everyone has an opinion on the AJ Brown drama. Now that he’s officially gone, people are starting to speak up. And by people, I mean literally everyone I follow on social media.

In the immediate aftermath of the trade, the rumor that started circulating was a wild one. We wrote about it here, but here’s a short recap:

• AJ Brown and Haason Reddick were banging the same chick in 2023
• This caused a rift in the locker room and everyone took sides
• AJ thought Jalen Hurts would take his side since they were boys, but Jalen wasn’t interested in off the field drama, he was focused on football
• That spiraled into where we are now, where the two don’t even speak to one another anymore

With that as a crux, a lot of people started spreading more rumors that were tied to AJ and Reddick. Lord Brunson, a known Eagles influencer on Twitter, was one of the loudest voices. In one video, he claimed that AJ Brown blamed Reddick for his car getting stolen back in 2023. That video made the rounds and then on Thursday, none other than Jalen Hurts’ own mother decided to chime in and essentially throw cold water on the flames.

“People don’t know what they don’t know, so this is what you get.”

For those unfamiliar with the Hurts family language, that translates roughly to: “This man is talking out of his ass.”

Which is probably true. As much as I want to latch onto these rumors in order to explain away why this whole thing happened, I have to accept the fact that I, along with all of you, will never truly know what happened between Brown and Hurts. We can speculate. We can point to Brandon Graham liking an IG post detailing the Brown-Haason beef and say, “see, it is true!” We can do that all day. It still won’t actually confirm anything.

You can believe whatever you want to believe. In the end, it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s sad that these two couldn’t figure it out, and maybe one day, they’ll reconcile their differences Shaq and Kobe style. But right now, AJ Brown is a Patriot and Jalen Hurts is an Eagle. And I’m sitting here patiently waiting for football to start again.
