Former Eagles S CJ Gardner-Johnson feared to have torn his Achilles at Bills camp

Tough blow for former Eagles safety CJ Gardner-Johnson. According to multiple reports, CJGJ was carted off the field at Buffalo Bills camp today with what may be a torn Achilles.

The Bills new safety went down, later clutched at his leg near his Achilles. Couldn’t put any pressure on his right leg as he was helped off the field slowly. Appeared non-contact

You never want to see this kind of thing during training camp. Gardner-Johnson signed with Buffalo this offseason after an up-and-down 2025 campaign.

He began the season with Houston before being cut and picked up by the Chicago Bears, where he finished the year as their starting safety. He hit free agency again this offseason, and Buffalo came calling.

For all the flak CJGJ gets, he’s a baller on the field. Always has been.

I never understood the hate he got during his time with Philly. He was genuinely great for us in both years he played here. Hopefully the injury he sustained today isn’t as serious as it looks.
