Healthy Breakup: Both the Eagles and AJ Brown look happier a week into camp

The Eagles–AJ Brown breakup took up essentially the entire offseason this year. It was the only thing pundits talked about, aside from the occasional Jalen Hurts hit piece, which is just par for the course these days.

With training camp underway, we’re now seeing both sides move on in real time, and honestly, it seems like Brown and the Eagles are better off without one another.

We’ve all been in relationships like this before. The highs are so high that you can’t imagine life without your partner. Then the lows hit, and you become unrecognizable to even yourself. For lack of a better term, it was toxic.

Now both sides look genuinely happier than they’ve been in years.

AJ Brown won’t stop talking about how he’s in heaven. Jalen Hurts lost some weight and is talking about how everyone in the locker room is fully bought in. It’s kind of beautiful.

We could sit here and be salty exes — complain about AJ acting like he escaped an abusive relationship and found the love of his life, go back and forth with Patriots fans on Twitter about who won the trade.

Both sides won the trade. The Eagles are fully locked in, the vibes are high, and they’ll have a completely revamped offense with a handful of new weapons. AJ is doing interviews, laughing it up, smiling the entire time. That’s cool with me.

Now, I do think things can go south fast for both sides here. But I’ll put my money on the organization that’s been to two Super Bowls in the past five seasons over any one individual.
