Jonathan Greenard hints at his return for the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of Week 2 matchup vs. Titans

I’m down here in Nashville with the Liberty Line crew and the thousands of Eagles fans that traveled and it’s been a blast to say the least. But the one thing that has been in the back of my mind since boarding the plane: What’s the deal with Jonathan Greenard.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know if we’re going to see him Sunday. Greenard has been dealing with a pectoral strain that kept him out for essentially the entire offseason and training camp.

He’s been limited in practice, but the Eagles haven’t given him the green light for game action yet.

Jonathan Greenard with an “update” on his status

This is the part Eagles fans should love. Greenard isn’t talking about coming back just to ease his way into the season. He wants to get out there and dominate. And that’s really all that matters here.

The Eagles should be more than fine against the Titans without him. I mean these guys lost to the Jets by two scores in Week 1. That’s not the issue here.

The only issue is just the unclarity of Greenard’s status. Nobody has really known when he will come back.

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio who’s always brutally honest recently commented on Jonathan Greenard’s status when asked

“You need to talk to Tom.”

That’s Tom Hunkele, the Eagles’ head athletic trainer. So yeah. Greenard is waiting on the medical staff. I’m sorry I don’t have more of an update for you lovely people.

But that’s where we’re at.
