Confirmed: LeBron James is coming to Philadelphia to help Joel Embiid win a ring and complete the process

For months at this point, we’ve heard about the LeBron James and Tyrese Maxey relationship. Sixers fans heard how the Jaylen Brown trade cracked the door open to Philadelphia. All of that’s great, and shoutout once again to Mike Gansey for making it all happen, but there was ONE thing we hadn’t heard yet, the thing that actually matters to this fanbase more than anything.

We have all been waiting for LeBron James to talk about Joel Embiid and the Process and finally, we’ve got it, and it’s every single thing I hoped it would be.

LeBron James, the all-time leading scorer, one of the two greatest to ever lace them up, came to Philadelphia in the final act of his career for the specific purpose of helping Joel Embiid finish what he started.

LeBron James gets it. He understands the Process. From the Sam Hinkie manifesto to the blood oath every single one of us took to Trust the Process, LeBron understands the assignment down to his bones, and he is locked all the way in.

You’d be a straight-up fool to think LeBron won’t reshape Joel Embiid’s entire mindset and finally complete the Process that was promised to this city.

Make no mistake, LeBron James knows how complicated the relationship between Philly and Joel has been over the years. Embiid is one of the best athletes to ever come through this town, but it’s been awfully hard to fully appreciate his greatness when this team has never sniffed a conference final.

That’s the ugly, frustrating truth of it.

Here’s the deal with where Embiid’s career actually sits, though. This man has had stretches where he’s been the most dominant big the game has EVER seen. An MVP. A face of the entire league for a decade. Go purely off the basketball, and he’s right there with anybody who’s ever played, but that’s not how this cruel sport works.

You don’t get into the “GOAT” conversation without a ring on your finger, period. Until Joel Embiid becomes a champion, his career will never stack up against the Shaqs, the Kareems, the Jokics. A ring is the price of admission, and once you’re in, your game takes it from there.

The whole package, for sure, but if his career ends ringless, he’s forever remembered for what could’ve been, and that would be a genuine tragedy for a player this dominant and this meaningful to Philadelphia.

The fact that LeBron James, of all people, is willing to spend the final chapter of his legendary career here to help Embiid finish that legacy tells you everything you need to know.

It screams how much LeBron believes the big fella deserves it, and it screams that LeBron sees a real, live path to actually pulling it off. When the greatest winner of his generation looks at your MVP center and flat-out says “I came here to help this man get his ring,” you shut up and you believe him.
