A’ja Wilson resorts to going after a Fever fan due to Caitlin Clark dominating her in historic WNBA playoff performance

Guys, can we please talk about the actual story here? Because somehow, after Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever just saved their season with a 99-89 playoff win over the Las Vegas Aces, we’re talking about A’ja Wilson arguing with a fan.

Because, of course we are. Apparently the WNBA cannot just let Caitlin Clark have one night where the conversation is about how freaking incredible she was.

Clark finished with 27 points, 15 assists and 7 rebounds, becoming the first player in WNBA playoff history to record at least 25 points and 15 assists in a game. She also fouled out with 2:45 left after spending the night making huge plays on both ends of the floor.

Did I mention she reportedly threw up in the locker room during half time? That’s how focused and determined Caitlin was leave everything out there on the court last night. See what I did there? Leave everything on the court…

So What Actually Happened With A’ja Wilson?

With about four minutes left, Wilson drew a foul on Sophie Cunningham.

After the whistle, Wilson saw a Fever fan behind the baseline pointing in her direction. Wilson then walked toward the seats and got into a heated exchange with him before teammates, coaches and security separated everyone.

Wilson received a technical foul. The fan was escorted away from his seat. Then came the interesting part.

The Indiana Fever later said arena security spoke with the fan and witnesses and determined that he had not violated the Fan Code of Conduct. He was allowed back into the arena. Case closed.

That’s not me saying Wilson had no reason to be upset. That’s the actual investigation from arena security.

And Wilson’s version is that the fan stepped toward her and pointed at her, which she said was unacceptable. Pointed at her! Oh the horror…

And the worst part about this whole situation was the broadcast crew defending A’ja Wilson’s behavior. Could you imagine if Caitlin Clark did this? All we would be hearing about is how she needs to control her emotions in a big game.

Anyways, if the fan didn’t violate the arena’s rules, we’re now left with a pretty simple question:

Why are we spending more time talking about the fan than Caitlin Clark?

This is what I and really anyone with a love for basketball will remember from this game. With her back against the wall, season on the line, the defending champs in your house, Caitlin Clark not only rose to the occasion but she just showed why she is the real face of the league.

And while all the angry, miserable people online will make up whatever narratives they want, the bottomline is that Caitlin Clark and the Fever whooped the Aces asses. And A’ja Wilson acted like a sore loser, instead of taking the loss on the chin. You know, like how Clark did after the Fever got smoked in game 1…
