Eagles add depth to offensive line, signing former first-round pick to 1-year deal
Following the 2024 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles made a handful of moves to round out their roster. Including signing former first-round left tackle Mekhi Becton to a one-year deal.
Becton, 25, is a monster of a man, standing at 6-foot-7, 363 pounds. He entered the league as the 11th overall selection of the New York Jets in 2020. Despite his unworldly potential, he’s never quite put it together during his four-year career. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to resurrect his career under the best offensive line coach in the NFL, Jeff Stoutland.

Although the Eagles don’t need any starting help along their offensive line, they were in desperate need of depth. After selecting two interior offensive lineman during the draft, Trevor Keegan and Dylan McMahon, they brought in Becton to solidify their depth at tackle.
The biggest question mark with Becton is his health. He’s dealt with numerous injuries during his career, appearing in just one game between the 2021 and 2022 season. He bounced back a bit in 2023, starting 16 games for New York.
