Sixers Front Office overhaul continues with the hiring of Peter Dinwiddie

There seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. The day many Sixers fans have waited for. Alex Rucker has been replaced as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations by Peter Dinwiddie. The news comes only a day after they moved on from Sergi Olivia. Dinwiddie is highly regarded by the rest of the league and was considered for the Bucks GM position back in 2017.
Dinwiddie’s path is inspiring, starting as a ticket rep for the Pacers in 2006. At only 42, Dinwiddie has a lot of experience and very wise for his young age. Impressing Larry Bird almost right away when being promoted in 2008, Dinwiddie was a fantastic hire and seems to be Brand’s #2 guy moving forward.
Also brought on by the 76ers was Prosper Karangwa from the Orlando Magic. His official title is VP of Player Personnel. Prosper was the former director of scouting for the Orlando Magic and helped draft players such as Jonathan Isaac. Ned Cohen reportedly will remain in his role as Assistant GM but Brand now has brought in his “Basketball Minds” to help with his decision making.
I wouldn’t say they are out of the doghouse just yet, Rucker seems to be on the outs but Cohen still remains. Likely it would seem he won’t have as much say but we will not know until it is seen. This comes only a day after the Sixers hired Dave Joerger as Doc Rivers’ Assistant coach.
