Sixers begin Front Office turnover, part ways with Sergi Olivia

The mass exodus (hopefully) has begun inside the 76ers’ front office. According to Keith Pompey, the Sixers have moved on from VP of Strategy Sergi Olivia. Sergi was apart of the 3 headed monster that remained from the Colangelo firings. Being with the organization since 2014, Olivia slowly began to have more say in the front office decisions the last few years.
This is a great look in the right direction but the job is not close to being done. Executive Vice President Alex Rucker and Assistant GM Ned Cohen still remain with the 76ers. Since his press conference shortly after the end of the season, GM Elton Brand has heavily suggested change would occur with the addition to “basketball minded” people joining his staff.
Nobody knows if Rucker and Cohen will remain with the organization or if they will be removed like Olivia. One would hope that the change comes, but the outcome is not so sure. The Sixers have made a lot of changes this offseason, hiring Doc Rivers as head coach and Dave Joerger as his assistant.
