76ers draft Kentucky Guard Tyrese Maxey at 21

The board has fallen in the 76ers favor. Daryl Morey made his first selection on the 2020 NBA Draft and took Tyrese Maxey at pick #21. The 6’3 guard from Kentucky is known for his elite offensive ability and explosiveness.
Maxey averaged 14 points and 3.2 assists during the 2020 season with the Wildcats. Considered one of the best scorers in the NBA Draft, he can be lethal when working with space. Maxey is going to be killer in transition alongside Ben Simmons.
With that there are some concerns to have with Maxey. Although he is dominant on offense, his perimeter shooting is lacking. Tyrese shot 29% from 3 this past season but many feel it can be worked on and improve as he progresses in Philadelphia. He did however, shoot 40% from three against Top 25 teams.
Maxey was a fantastic choice and you couldn’t go wrong with any of the options available at 21. It has been quite the night for Philadelphia. Al Horford was traded for Danny Green earlier. Philadelphia is expected to pick again at 36, 48, and 59.
Doc Rivers had a quick segment after the pick and said that Maxey would fit great with Ben Simmons at point guard…
