76ers acquire Danny Green for Al Horford, picks

Daryl Morey has made his first move. Al Horford has been traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Danny Green. The 76ers 2025 1st round pick and pick number 34 tonight have been moved with Horford. Horford was signed to a 4-year contract worth $109 million before the start of last season.
Danny Green is fresh off a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers averaging 8 points a game in 25 minutes. The 6’6 wing is best known for his perimeter shooting and defense. Green has 4 NBA Titles, 2 with the Spurs and one with the Raptors last season and Los Angeles in the bubble. He was traded to Oklahoma City a few days ago for Dennis Schroder.
The 76ers also acquired Terrance Ferguson, a 22 year old wing heading into his 4th NBA Season. Ferguson has some upside but likely won’t see much time in their current rotation. 76ers also sent the rights to Vasilije Micic to Oklahoma City.
Green is set to make $15 million this season on the last year remaining on his contract. This allows the Sixers to clear Horford’s contract almost immediately. It is unknown if Green will be kept or moved once again this summer but the most important part here is the fact that Al Horford is off the books.
