Boston Scott signs his one-year tender with Eagles

The Eagles have wrapped up the signings of their ERFAs today, bringing back running back Boston Scott. Scott was tendered alongside wide receiver Greg Ward and linebacker Alex Singleton around the start of the new league year a few weeks ago. This upcoming season will be Scott’s fourth with the Eagles.
Scott’s tender is for one season and worth $850,000. When he was tendered as an exclusive rights free agent, Scott was given no choice but to return to the Eagles. These three tenders have allowed the Eagles to retain some much-needed depth at a meager cost.
During the end of the 2019 season, Scott took over having a fantastic stretch of games during Miles Sanders’ absence. But when the 2020 season came around, he seemed to have regressed with increased playing time. Hopefully, under a new coach and a healthy offensive line, Scott can return to form.
For the moment, it seems the majority of the Eagles free agent signings are done. After the acquisitions of players like Anthony Harris and Joe Flacco, there isn’t much salary cap space remaining. The Eagles are likely to trade tight end Zach Ertz, so they might not be done just yet.
