Daryl Morey’s leaked playlist proves he’s the best kind of nerd

A Redditor posted a playlist from what is allegedly Daryl Morey’s Spotify account, and it could not be more on-brand for the Sixers GM. The compilation includes 24+ hours worth of thematic songs from Morey’s favorite Broadway musicals, an interest about which he has been very public. Take a look at the comprehensive list below:

God DAMN Daryl, how long did it take you to put this together? It’s no secret Daryl Morey is a massive nerd. He loves analytics and numbers so much, co-founded the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, or, as I like to call it, my living hell. If you follow him on Twitter, you can see his interests exist pretty much solely in the nerd realm. He constantly tweets about NFTs and other things that make literally zero sense to me.

Obviously, Daryl’s nerdiness extends far beyond numbers onto the stage of Broadway. Not only does he apparently bump show tunes for 24 hours straight, he also wrote his own musical called Small Ball that premiered in Houston in 2018. This move most likely solidified Daryl Morey as the most well-rounded nerd in America. You can’t pigeon-hole Daryl into one area of nerdiness. He’s like Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, except instead of collecting stones Daryl is collecting ways to embarrass his daughter in a public forum.

Sure, you can make fun of his love of musical theatre as much as you want, but I see it as a strength. A lot of parallels can be drawn between Broadway and working in a basketball front office, at least that’s what his success in both fields would tell me. Best part is, he has too much money to care. Plus he’s 6’4, which I didn’t know until I sat down to write this thing, so he can pretty much do whatever he wants.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
