Former 76ers assistant hired by Boston Celtics

The Brett Brown coaching tree keeps growing. Yesterday, the Boston Celtics announced that they would be hiring former 76ers assistant Ime Udoka as their new head coach. Udoka was most recently a member of the Brooklyn Nets, which he joined following his departure from Philadelphia.
Ime was previously with the Spurs for seven years but joined Brett Brown’s staff as the lead defensive assistant in 2019. Under his tenure, the 76ers’ defense was tremendous but had issues due to the spacing of Joel Embiid and Al Horford. Now two active head coaches were an assistant under Brett Brown. The other one being Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Willians.
It will be interesting to see how Udoka performs with Boston and if he can produce the same amount of success that Brad Stevens had. For Philadelphia, Doc Rivers will be entering his second season as head coach next year while Brett Brown is still without a job.
