Ben Simmons shooting coach/brother places blame on others instead of himself

It looks like there could be some trouble brewing between Ben Simmons’ camp and the 76ers this offseason. Recently, Ben Simmons’ brother and shooting coach, Liam Simmons, liked some interesting tweets following the conclusion of the Sixers season. Liam’s Twitter is currently private, but it pains me to credit Reddit, but Reddit user “injury_bettor” was able to find these tweets.
For reference, Ben originally started with a coach hired by Brett Brown to work on his shooting, but Klutch pulled Ben to work with his brother. Since that moment, Ben’s jump shot hasn’t been the same. The two most recent liked tweets from Liam include one stating that Ben’s coach and teammates haven’t backed him during post-game press conferences. And that the lack of support is the main reason behind his lack of confidence.

The second tweet is directly solely at 76ers center Joel Embiid which stated, “You don’t want to play with this guy. He ain’t team”. This statement was in response to Joel saying that Ben passing up of a dunk was the turning point in their game seven loss.
There are so many things wrong with this whole situation I don’t even know where to start. First off, I get he is your brother, but being Ben Simmons SHOOTING coach, it feels like you should be dead last in the entire NBA to talk crap. Second did Ben not pass out of an open dunk that led to a loss? Joel is not wrong with what he said in the slightest.
Philadelphia was eliminated from their best shot at a title in years, and Ben was one of the main reasons why. Being upset because he was being held accountable is precisely why the entire NBA world thinks Ben’s camp babies him.
It seems incredibly likely that Ben Simmons will be playing elsewhere in 2021, but I, for one, am sick of dealing with annoying relatives of 76ers players. From Anna Horford to Jahlil’s Okafor’s dad and everyone in-between, it’s been too much.
