2 More Phillies Players Land Themselves on the COVID-Related Injury List

The Philadelphia Phillies have more COVID related issues and it’s something that won’t be going away anytime soon. Just before the first pitch tonight in New York against the Yankees, the Phillies put JD Hammer and Bailey Falter on the COVID IL. Falter, literally just came back from the COVID list.
The news comes as other reports earlier today said that the Phillies are hovering around a 50% team vaccination. Several players, including Aaron Nola, Hector Neris, Brandon Kintzler, and Didi Gregorius have already voiced their opinions on the vaccine and remain skeptical.

With Falter and Hammer heading to the COVID-related IL, Mauricio Llovera and Mickey Moniak have both been recalled from Triple A Lehigh Valley.
Just last week, the Moniak went 2-for-2 with a three run home runs and a run scoring double in game against Buffalo on Saturday. That game, just like the Phillies game, was suspended in the fourth inning due to some crazy thunderstorms yesterday. Moniak got his work in early, with a home run, a double, and four RBI. It was his 10th home run of the season in Triple-A. He’s slashing .232/.295/.240 with a .454 OPS on the year with the IronPigs with 10 home runs, seven doubles, four triples, and 38 RBI.
The Phillies are currently up 1-0 in the top of the 3rd inning against the Yankees. Rhys Hoskins hit a solo home run to give the team the lead. Nola on the mound.
