Rockies’ RHP Jon Gray linked to Phillies in a potential trade

The Philadelphia Phillies have been linked to another pitcher across major league baseball, Jon Gray. Just minutes ago, Gray was mentioned in a potential trade to Philadelphia, along with the Giants and Padres, per Jon Morosi on twitter. Like Morosi says below, the pitcher market is kind of at a halt, with the possibility of star pitcher Max Scherzer being moved tonight.
Jonathan “Wolf” Gray is a starter for the Colorado Rockies, who was drafted with the third overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft. Jon Gray is 6-6 on the season, with a 3.67 ERA in 18 starts. In 98 innings pitched on the year, Gray has 91 strikeouts, has allowed 80 hits, with an 8.4 SO/9. His ERA is the lowest it has been since 2017, with his slider being his highlight pitch, putting batters away with his off speed junk over 25% of the time.
With the trade fall through of Pirates pitcher Tyler Anderson, the team is still on the hunt for back of the rotation arms to make a difference for this team, and help them make a push to the playoffs. Jon Gray would be a great insurance pickup for the team, to throw into that fourth or fifth slot of the pitching rotation.
The Phillies look to take game 3 of their four game set against the Nationals tonight, at 7:05. Coming off a 6-4 loss last night, Phils pitcher Zack Wheeler (8-5, 2.37 ERA) will go up against Patrick Corbin (6-9, 5.71 ERA).
