Rumor: 76ers hope to trade Ben Simmons during NBA Draft

A major move could be in the cards tonight for the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Jason Dumas, the Sixers are hoping to trade Ben Simmons tonight. Dumas went on to say that their asking price remains the same, and at this point, it’s not if he gets traded. It’s when. Adrian Wojnarowski discussed a potential draft deal for Ben last night, but nothing seemed imminent.
Several teams have pursued Ben Simmons, with many of them owning top selections in tonight’s draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors, who own the 3rd and 4th picks, are some of the teams interested. Even if Ben isn’t moved tonight, there will likely be some other moves from Daryl Morey.
For the last few weeks, the 76ers have been heavily rumored to be trading the 28th pick for a win-now asset. Just this morning, the Sixers acquired the 53rd pick from the New Orleans Pelicans for $2 million and own the 50th pick. The 2021 NBA Draft kicks off tonight at 8:00.
