Dan Orlovsky thinks Crab Fries stink, and he’s absolutely correct

Dan Orlovsky was at Citizens Bank Park this week to catch a Philadelphia Phillies game. During his time at the ballpark, Orlovsky, like many Philadelphians, ordered come crab fries from Chickies and Petes at CBP. Orlovsky, wasn’t impressed.
Of course, the Philadelphia faithful did not appreciate an outsider coming into town and saying one of their most “famous” foods was garbage. Orlovsky already left a bad taste in people’s mouths (not mine) for his unwavering support for a former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback named Carson Wentz, and now he’s coming for the food. Honestly, the only issue here, is the fact that people actually think crab fries are good. Orlovsky is absolutely correct and finally, someone has spoken up about it.
Crab fries are only acceptable when you started tailgating for a birds game at 7am and stumble your way into Lincoln Financial Field in desperate need of something to eat to soak up the alcohol. Anytime you get these fries from a stadium, you’re ordering a bunch of over-seasoned and undercooked potatoes. Like most ballpark food, they only taste good when you’re heavily intoxicated.
If you want to be mad at Dan Orlovsky, ask him why he wasn’t 12 Yuengling’s deep enjoying the Crab Fries. The Phillies certainly want to make you drink to forget the .500 baseball that’s being played. In my opinion, slamming Yangs at the ballpark is more of a Philadelphia tradition then eating bad french fries that can’t be criticized without being yelled at.
There are appropriate ways to add condiments to hot dogs at Dollar Dog Nights and there are reasons to criticize other cities and countries for making Philly Cheesesteaks. However, that’s pretty much where I like to draw the line. Miss me with the “You’re not from Philly if you don’t like crab fries” takes or that you have to use the “creamy cheese” and “only order them from an actual restaurant location.” They’re simply not as good as everyone makes them out to be. I wish they were too, but unfortunately they’re not.
I am 100% down for supporting Chickies and Petes. They are a Philly-based company and we have to support our own. At the same time, being from Philadelphia also means that you’re critical and honest with your opinions. Crab Fries just don’t hit like everyone says they do. Sorry.
