Rumor: Ben Simmons and Doc Rivers’ relationship could be irreparable

The Ben Simmons rumor mill continues to pump out reports. In our latest edition, apparently no one in the 76ers organization seems to have a good relationship with Ben Simmons. Yesterday, Kyle Neubeck reported that Ben Simmons and Doc Rivers’ relationship had suffered significant strain that some believe is irreparable. Despite that, the Sixers believe things can be worked out, and fences can be mended.

This situation is far from the first report that Ben and the 76ers are no longer are on good terms. According to Jason Dumas, Ben has been refusing to talk to almost everyone in the 76ers organization and hasn’t answered calls from Joel Embiid. 

Adrian Wojnarowski has reported Ben Simmons to be “in-step” with a trade from Philadelphia, with a move seeming to occur sometime this summer. Golden State has been the most discussed team, with it being Ben’s preferred destination, but he has almost no say in his landing spot.

Daryl Morey has teased running it back, but it doesn’t seem likely to be the case for the upcoming season. Currently, the 76ers are going through the NBA summer league with hopes that Damian Lillard will eventually request a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers.
