Eagles waive UDFA wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon

Another tough casualty of training camp cuts. Late last night, it was reported that the Eagles cut UDFA wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon alongside cornerback Lavert Hill, according to Aaron Wilson. Coming into the preseason, there was a lot of hope that Ausbon could be a fringe guy for Philly but didn’t do anything to impress during the preseason.
Through the first two weeks, Ausbon didn’t get a single target but was very limited in his snaps, only playing four downs between the two games. Hill is a local product who spent the end of the 2020 season on the Eagles’ practice squad and was initially a UDFA signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles need to get down to 80 players by Tuesday’s deadline and currently sit at 83 following these cuts. It will be a tough battle for several known players fighting for a roster spot, including former second-round pick J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.
