Red Alert: Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia

Well this isn’t good. At all. According to a new article from Keith Pompey at the Philadelphia Inquirer, Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia. The article states that there was a meeting last week in Los Angeles with Ben Simmons, co-managing partner Josh Harris, Daryl Morey, Elton Brand, and coach Doc Rivers. In that meeting Ben Simmons stated that he no longer wants to remain a part of the Philadelphia 76ers and does not intend to report to training camp.
The article continues to say that Ben Simmons basically “refuses” to play for the 76ers this season and he wants to go to three California teams and that there is “so much” bad blood between him and the Sixers. Well isn’t that just great.
Goodbye ANY trade leverage. Thanks a lot Ben. Not only have you screwed yourself, but you have now screwed the Philadelphia 76ers. If I was in charge of the 76ers, I would let Ben Simmons sit on the bench. Pay his contract. Let him stay at home and play video games for all I care. Don’t bend a centimeter for this guy.
I’m upset, Ben Simmons. Why are you doing this? Better question: How could you do this? The Philadelphia 76ers did nothing to you. Any criticism that was given to you was caused by you and only you. This is bad news for the 76ers. Simmons is dead in the water.
More to come.
