Eagles release veteran defensive tackle from active roster

Not long after their win over the Atlanta Falcons, the Eagles have made some changes to their defensive line. According to Ian Rapaport, the Eagles have cut defensive tackle T.Y. McGill from the active roster. McGill was active on Sunday but didn’t play a single snap.
It’s likely that Nick Sirianni feels the Eagles need to bolster another position and felt their defensive line was deep enough to go on without McGill. T.Y. McGill signed with Philadelphia at the start of last season and often moved around from the active roster and practice squad.
In the meantime, the likely replacements for McGill on the 53 man roster could be Jordan Howard or Travis Fulgham. Philly is already below the maximum active players, with Davion Taylor, Rodney McLeod, and Landon Dickerson missing Sunday’s game.
