Ben Simmons attends Cowboys-Chargers game, officially ending his Bird Gang membership

The Philadelphia 76ers kick off training camp next week. Media day is on September 27th and the official first day of camp is the following day on September 28th. Unless you have been living under a rock or worried about what girls on TikTok are saying at Eagles tailgates, you have probably heard every rumor and story out there over the summer about Ben Simmons. Simmons, who is currently still the starting point guard on the Sixers, apparently plans to hold out of training camp until he is traded.

Okay fine, we all understand that Ben Simmons for whatever dumb reason, doesn’t want to come back to Philadelphia. He’s mad at Doc Rivers, he’s mad at himself, he’s embarrassed, he’s a big fat baby? Whatever way you want to cut it, he will be required to be in Philadelphia next week for camp or he will be fined a ton of money. Regardless, Simmons will get $16.1 million from the 76ers organization on October 1st, so there’s literally no incentive to come to camp.

Last weekend, pictures emerged of Ben Simmons doing Ben Simmons things, by attending the LA Chargers game in Los Angeles last weekend with his girlfriend, JR Smith and his lady friend. The only thing that would have actually made me respect Ben Simmons is if he went full sicko mode and wore a Dallas Cowboys jersey, who the Chargers were playing, but he couldn’t even give us the content we desperately wanted.

Has Benjamin Simmons left the Bird Gang? I was holding out hope that we would get a nice tweet from Ben Simmons before Eagles games every year since he has been here. Apparently that has ended, along with his desire to play basketball in Philly.

In all seriousness, just think how crazy it is that just four years later, Ben Simmons wants nothing to do with the city of Philadelphia. I remember being at Eagles games and the entire Linc was on their feet cheering Ben and Joel as they watched from the VIP section.

Get ready for a bumpy few weeks of 76ers news, we’re only getting started.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
