The Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles earlier today in South Philadelphia. They won on a last second field goal to beat the birds 27-24 and yet another quarterback, this time Justin Herbert, carved up a soft Eagles’ defense throughout the entire game. Herbert completed 32 of 38 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns on the day to become the fifth QB this season to complete 80-plus percent of his passes against the Eagles this season.

The Eagles offense actually looked better than it has in a while (excluding the game against the Lions), and Jalen Hurts was able to tie up the game with 6 minutes remaining. The problem, was that he never saw the field again thanks to another horrid performance by the defense.

At this point, I would rather the Eagles lose games like this. It was a fun game to watch and it was competitive until the final whistle while a loss only helps their draft positioning. So really, no big deal on my end. After the game, the Chargers Twitter account fired this tweet out, probably thinking it would be a nice dig on Philadelphia.

HA. Wrong. Here at The Liberty Line, we revoked Ben Simmons’ “Bird Gang” card months ago. Back in September, Ben Simmons attended the Cowboys-Chargers game with his girlfriend and JR Smith. It’s no secret that Ben Simmons loves Los Angeles and for whatever reason thinks he’s a superstar that would thrive on the west coast. In reality, Ben Simmons is scared to shoot a basketball, something he is supposed to do for a living.

The city of Philadelphia is done with Ben Simmons. The 76ers are in first place in the Eastern Conference with an 8-2 record after 10 games this season. Joel Embiid is our king. We Trust the Process and have surrounded him with guards that have been shooting lights out so far this year. You think we care about Ben Simmons in Philadelphia? There were literally people having sex with headless Ben Simmons piñatas outside the Wells Fargo Center. No one cares about Ben Simmons around here anymore. We can’t stand this dude and want him to leave the city as quickly as possible.

Okay fine, I have always loved Ben Simmons but I’m in a clear minority here.

Also, that video? Please. Ben Simmons clapping like an idiot while a Mariachi Band plays him a song is honestly one of the reasons why everyone hates Ben Simmons. So…thanks? The Eagles are a disaster. Everyone knows that. The Chargers are supposed to be a good football team this year and you could barely beat us. Then you tweet out a video of Ben Simmons, which I guess was supposed to be a dig at Philly fans?

Nope.

The official ruling on this tweet is simply “not good” and “not funny”. No one hates Philadelphia sports more than Philadelphia sports fans. And literally no one likes Ben Simmons (besides me). Then why did you write about it Drew? It sure seems like you care. Wrong again. But you’re still reading this article. So I already won.
