NBC Sports Philadelphia Announces Kate Scott as Zumoff’s Successor

In lieu of all the turmoil currently within the 76ers organization, fans have also been tantalized by the retirement of Marc Zumoff and who may replace him. Today, that question is answered according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
NBC Sports announced that Kate Scott will take the reins in her first full-time play-by-play gig with the Sixers. Scott has experience in announcing and trailblazing, being that she was the first woman to call an NFL game on a radio broadcast. She was also a part of the first all-female broadcasting crew for the NHL last season. This year, she will be the first full-time female broadcaster in Philadelphia sports history.
Scott is set to make her debut with the 76ers coverage in the preseason alongside the beloved Alaa Abdelnaaby. While she will be new to the NBA and the 76ers, she is no stranger to calling basketball games since she has been announcing for the Pac-12 for several years.
Scott becomes just the second woman to be named as the lead call for an NBA team and will be bolstered by the fantastic NBC Sports crew once the season starts.
