Pick tracker: Carson Wentz looking good for Sunday, Miami places Tua Tagovailoa on the IR

So far, things are looking good for the Philadelphia Eagles draft selections this offseason. After somehow spraining both of his ankles, it’s possible that Carson Wentz could play on Sunday afternoon against the Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins have placed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve due to his rib injury.
Initially, Tagovailoa was diagnosed with a bruised rib that has no escalated into broken ribs. Due to being placed on the IR, Tagovailoa will now miss at least the next three games. Miami’s upcoming games include the Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his absence, the Dolphins will start Jacoby Brissett.
Philadelphia acquired Miami’s first this past offseason when they traded back from the 6th pick to the 12th pick. If the season ended today, the Eagles would receive the 10th pick from Miami, who will likely lose at least two of their next three games.Â
Meanwhile, Carson Wentz has been practicing and is a game-time decision for the Colts’ game against Tennessee. For those still unaware, the Eagles receive the Colts’ 1st round pick if Carson Wentz plays 75% of snaps this season or 70%, and they make the playoffs.Â
Currently, Indianapolis is 0-2, and a playoff berth is looking less likely with each passing week. If the season were to end today, the Eagles would receive the 3rd pick from Indy for Wentz. Both of these teams are on a downward trajectory, and there’s a chance both picks could land in the top 15. If Jalen Hurts continues to impress, the Eagles will have a golden opportunity to boost their roster around him and set themselves up perfectly for the future.
