The Philadelphia Eagles made a tough decision today and decided to trade the legendary Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for CB Tay Gowan and a 2022 5th-round pick. First and foremost, cheers to Zach Ertz. When you think of a class act, he is first that comes to mind. I will be forever grateful for what he did for the city of Philadelphia by bringing us our first Super Bowl ever. He was one of the greatest Eagles I have ever had the pleasure in watching. Now that we have that out of the way, let’s check in with our new cornerback Tay Gowan.

Obviously, we’re just joking around here. No one should care about a tweet in general, let alone from 2013. But it appears that Tay Gowan was not a big fan of the Eagles. Not even sure if this tweet is about the Philadelphia Eagles but let’s just pretend it is for a second. Tay Gowan will be a fan favorite. He’s literally saying what every single Eagles fan is saying today. Insert the Wolf of Wall Street “One of Us” chant gif baby, we have ourselves a new cornerback that understands the Eagles fan base and the frustration that we deal with on a daily basis.

CB Tay Gowan — who opted out of the 2020 season — was a 6th-round pick out of UCF in the 2021 draft. PFF had Gowan — 6’2″, 185 pounds — listed as #69 on its top-100 players in the draft.

Gowan gave up just 20 receptions on 50 targets in 2019, allowing a 26.6 passer rating when targeted, the best in the country. He’ll give the Eagles a young, developmental corner with size and playmaking ability.
