76ers waive Shaq Harrison, expected to join Delaware Blue Coats

In an expected move this morning, the Philadelphia 76ers have announced that they are waiving guard Shaq Harrison. Harrison was brought on a few weeks back as a training camp body and played during the 76ers’ four preseason games. Following his waive, Harrison is expected join the Sixers’ G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
During his short stint in Philadelphia, Harrison was alright but didn’t provide anything worth opening a roster spot for him. It was unlikely, to begin with, due to a roster spot not becoming available unless Ben Simmons was traded. Against Brooklyn, Shaq Harrison saw his most time, playing 28 minutes, scoring nine points, and pulling in seven rebounds.
The Delaware Blue Coats will have a bolstered roster for this upcoming season with the addition of Harrison. Joining him are Braxton Key and Jared Brownridge alongside two-way players Grant Riller and Aaron Henry. Delaware’s season is just a few weeks away, with the 76ers starting their year on the road against New Orleans on Wednesday.
