76ers continue to hold firm in waiting on Ben Simmons trade despite today’s incident

Even through all of the chaos, Daryl Morey and the 76ers are holding pat. Following the news surrounding Ben Simmons yesterday, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Sixers’ willingness to wait on a trade remains the same. Simmons attended practice today but refused to participate despite numerous requests otherwise.
Philadelphia refuses to trade Ben Simmons for role players and has turned down several decent offers from interested teams. But after Simmons antics this morning, the trade market is likely to plummet even further. Nobody is hurting from this except Ben Simmons himself. Simmons is already the most fined player in NBA history, and the fines will only continue to accumulate.
There likely won’t be a resolution to this situation for quite some time. The trade market isn’t changing, and no star players have shown any indication of wanting out across the league. Joel Embiid has appeared to give his blessing on waiting for the right deal, and nobody wants to give in to the hissy fit that Ben Simmons is throwing. The 76ers’ opening night is tomorrow against the New Orleans Pelicans, while Simmons is suspended without pay.
