Report: Eagles are officially OUT on QB Deshaun Watson

The Philadelphia Eagles have been linked to troubled QB Deshaun Watson for some time now, but it looks as though they’ve finally taken their name out of the hat.
Per ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Eagles are no longer interested in a potential trade for Watson.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman has been checking in on Watson’s legal matters for much of the year, dating back to the summer when he sent an investigator to get a better feel of the situation:
“At one point, Philadelphia was really aggressive in this to the point where Howie Roseman had even contacted Deshaun’s legal team, and he had sent an investigator down here,” Wilson said. “He had done a lot of legwork on this. Eventually, what he ascertained, and I reported this back in August, and I think in late July as well, that Deshaun wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause for the Eagles. He has some power in this. He can choose his own team. If he says no, then the trade is a no.”

It wasn’t likely that Watson would’ve waived his no-trade clause to play in Philadelphia, but that didn’t stop Roseman from remaining engaged in trying to acquire him.
The latest reports indicate that Watson is Miami-bound, sending Tua Tagovailoa to a new franchise in just his second year. For now, the Eagles will continue to assess Jalen Hurts as he attempts to win over the organization.
