Eagles sign another quarterback, release only long snapper on team

Changes coming at quarterback for the Eagles? According to Ian Rapoport, the Eagles have claimed Miami Dolphins QB Reid Sinnett off the waiver wire. Sinnett was waived just a day ago to make room for wide receiver Isaiah Ford. The Buccaneers signed Sinnett as a UDFA back in 2020.
The move makes very little sense for Philadelphia, who now have four quarterbacks on their active roster. I have no idea why Howie Roseman wants another QB on the depth chart behind Hurts, Flacco, and Minshew. What makes even less sense is that the Eagles have cut long snapper Rick Lovato to make room.
Philadelphia does not have another long snapper on their roster, and Lovato has been with the team since 2016. Rick Lovato has done a fine job minus some minor injuries, and a quick google search does not show any history of Sinnett being a long snapper.
So let me ask you this, Howard Roseman, why are you cutting your only long snapper to add to your “quarterback factory.” Are the Eagles going with the high school motto of always going for it on fourth down? Rumors have circulated a QB change could occur this offseason, but using four roster spots on this position instead of depth on the line or secondary is a colossal waste.
Update:
According to reports, the Eagles are trading Joe Flacco to the New York Jets after Zach Wilson was ruled out 2-4 weeks. Philadelphia’s is getting a late round pick in return but it doesn’t explain why they cut their only long snapper.
