Portland Trailblazers – Philadelphia 76ers: Game Preview, Odds, Predictions

Before we get into tonight’s game preview. Can we all make a deal as 76ers fans to not act like complete losers while Dame Lillard is in town? Leave the “We want Dame” chants at home and stop tagging him on social media. The guy has stated multiple times he has no intention of leaving Portland and we are Sixers fans and have a basketball game to win. No way in hell we are going to pander to an opposing teams player. Joel Embiid deserves better.
Now that we have that squared away, the Philadelphia 76ers will look to extend their winning streak to three games tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia against the Portland Trailblazers.
The Blazers enter tonight at 3-3 on the season and just lost to the Charlotte Hornets 113-125. A good way to describe the Portland Trailblazers this year would be inconsistent. CJ McCollum is the team’s leading scorer and dropped 25 points on the night. Damian Lillard continues to struggle, scoring just 14 points against the Hornets, but dished out 12 dimes in the losing effort. Dame is averaging just 19.4 points per game on 37.1% shooting from the floor and a miserable 26.2% from beyond the arc.
The 76ers are coming off a dominant victory over the Atlanta Hawks and have improved to 4-2 on the season. The Sixers as a whole, lead the NBA in field goal percentage at 48.8%. They are also first in offensive rating at 114.9, first in free throw percentage at 86.5% and first in fast break points per game at 18.5. Last game, they dominated the pain, outscoring the hawks 60-34 and lit them up on the fast break 34-14.
For the rest of the 76ers, Tobias Harris led the team with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Seth Curry was on fire once again from three. Speaking of Curry, he leads the NBA in three-point shooting at 63% through six games. He’s averaging a season-high 28 points.

I really don’t see how the Sixers don’t win this game. The Trailblazers are too inconsistent to start this season. Of course, that inconsistency could go both ways and we could see Dame Time catch fire and pair nicely with the hot start of CJ McCollum. However, there’s no way you bet against the 76ers at home, with the Sixers playing great on both ends of the court.
Picks via Parx Sportsbook: 76ers -5.5
As for the game tonight, Joel Embiid is now listed as OUT due to rest. The lines for tonight already have been updated. The 76ers went from 5.5 point favorites down to 2.5 point favorites.
