Nick Sirianni’s Flower Power: A Rally Cry or False Sense of Hope?

After a rough week for the Eagles coaching staff leading up to yesterday’s game in Detroit, it was great to see the birds get a win, even if it was against the winless Lions. During his press conference last week, Nick Sirianni, (or Sativa Sirianni), gave a wild press conference about the Eagles being flowers and sent fans into an uproar.
Eagles fans were tired of the gimmicks while their football team was getting beaten to hell every single week. However, the Eagles destroyed the Lions yesterday on Halloween, and we finally saw those seeds turn into flowers. Was it enough to turn the flower speech into a rally cry for the rest of the season? I’m not quite sure I will take it that far yet.
The game however, was awesome. Finally the Eagles were running the football. The Eagles ran the ball 46 times for 236 yards and four touchdowns. It’s a crazy concept to run the ball in Philadelphia. I’m shocked it actually worked. Then of course, we had this guy, who was clearly on the Sativa Sirianni train and honestly, should be credited for the Eagles win.
We went from criticizing Sirianni and his flower comments to going full blown flower power. This guy instantly became a legend and I like to think that even if it wasn’t Halloween, he would still be wearing the same outfit and dancing like a psychopath in the stands. This guy attended a (2-5) Eagles game in Detroit against an 0-7 Lions team. That alone deserves some props. The flower costume, the dance, his face, were all just icing on the cake.
If the Eagles can return home and beat the Chargers this weekend we may very well be on our way to a Flower Power Rally Cry. Honestly, I’m here for it. Give us some glimmer of hope and beat a good team in the Chargers at home to continue the climb back to a .500 record.
Fly Eagles Fly. Grow Eagles Grow. Flower costumes everywhere. Weed smoke everywhere. Sign me up.
