Fan throws flowers at Nick Sirianni: Sign of love or hate?

Ah, yes. Philadelphia sports fans. Gotta love em, right? After today’s loss on a last second field goal to the Los Angeles Chargers, Nick Sirianni and company exited the field. On his way out, Nick Sirianni was hit in the head with…a bouquet of flowers? Nick Sirianni wasn’t very happy about it and stopped in his tracks before being ushered into the locker room by security surrounding him. It’s likely that the flower thrower did it out of disgust, but is it possible that it was a sign of love?
Nah, I highly doubt it was out of love. We have covered Nick Sirianni and his flower analogies more than I’d like to admit on The Liberty Line. We went from the whole Sativa Sirianni Flower Power press conference, to the Eagles’ head coach showing players videos of Peyton Manning throwing footballs at kids’ heads heading into this week. Through the entire mess, it did look like Eagles players inside the locker room were buying into it.
I like to think that this Eagles fan was throwing a bouquet of flowers Sirianni’s way like they used to do after a great performance in a theater after a show, or like at a wedding when a drunk bridesmaid thinks that she will be the next to get married because another drunk bridesmaid threw her some flowers. Unfortunately, I doubt that’s the case.
Sirianni actually didn’t call a bad game today. The Eagles offense was relatively balanced and Jalen Hurts tied to the football game with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. The problem was that Hurts and the offense never saw the field again because Jonathan Gannon and the Eagles defense is pathetic.
Throwing shit at coaches and players never works out well in Philadelphia. I’m sure the media will pick this up and run with it and turn it into some huge ordeal about how Philly fans are the worst. Hopefully I got ahead of it and we can all just say it was an act of love because the Eagles offense actually looked decent today?
Probably not, but it was certainly worth a try.
