MACtion Week Two: Tuesday Night Bets via Parx Sportsbook

Thank god NFL Week 9 is over. It was a painful week for the sports gambling community. I was absolutely destroyed on Sunday and it didn’t help last night with the Chicago Bears covering a seven point spread against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Luckily, it’s time to get back on track in the MAC.
The MAC returns with three games tonight and three games tomorrow night. Last week, we dominated MACtion and posted a 4-2 record over two nights of wild football. This week, we’ll do even better.
Before we dive in, make sure you sign up for a Parx Sportsbook account and help out The Liberty Line by depositing $25.00 into your new account. Back to business. We have three games on the slate tonight.
Buffalo at Miami (OH)
TEAM | SPREAD | MONEYLINE | TOTAL |
Buffalo | +8 (-112) | +225 | O 57.5 (-108) |
Miami (OH) | -8 (-109) | -305 | U 57.5 (-112) |
If you followed me last week, you’ll know how much I love the RedHawks name. You’ll also know that I absolutely hate the fact that Miami (OH) plays second fiddle to Miami and has to use (OH) in their name to avoid any confusion.
Because of that, I will never bet on the Miami (OH) RedHawks. I know, it’s such a ridiculous stance to take but we have to draw the line somewhere.
The RedHawks lost to Ohio last week on the road. Buffalo had a two-game winning streak stopped last week after allowing 56 points to Bowling Green at home, losing 56-44.
Last season, Buffalo beat the living crap out of the RedHawks, winning 42-10. It’s no secret that Buffalo can put up a shit load of points. The issue is their defense, which can’t seem to stop anyone. With Miami (OH) sitting in second place in the MAC East and a 3-1 record in conference play, Brett Gabbert and company should be able to put up a decent amount of points tonight and I expect Buffalo to do the same.
Parx Sportsbook Bet: O 57.5 (-108)
If you want to take the RedHawks -7, I think that’s a pretty solid bet too. As a man of principle, I just don’t bet on the RedHawks.
Akron at Western Michigan
TEAM | SPREAD | MONEYLINE | TOTAL |
Akron | +25 (-113) | +1150 | O 62 (-114) |
Western Michigan | -25 (-108) | -3335 | U 62 (-107) |
Trash game. The Zips are 2-7 on the season and 1-4 in conference play. The Broncos have lost consecutive games and lost 42-30 to Central Michigan last Wednesday.
The Central Michigan Broncos enter tonight as heavy favorites because the Zips are a poverty football team. I get it. I really dont see the Zips to covering a huge 24.5 spread either. The question is, will Akron score enough to get us over the 62 point total.
That’s MACtion for ya. The Zips stink out loud but let’s throw a Hail Mary up on this game and get a little crazy.
Parx Sportsbook Bet: Western Michigan -25 and the O 62 (-107)
Ohio at Eastern Michigan
TEAM | SPREAD | MONEYLINE | TOTAL |
Ohio | +6 (-112) | +180 | O 61.5 (-109) |
Eastern Michigan | -6 (-109) | -230 | U 61.5 (-112) |
O-H-I-O. The Bobcats came up huge for us last week with an upset win that cashed a +230 money line bet and made me feel like I actually know what I’m doing. Tonight, they will be on the road against a 6-3 Eastern Michigan team.
Can the Bobcats pull off another upset?
Nope. Eastern Michigan is too good on offense. They have been rolling teams the last two games, with a 55-24 win at Bowling green and a 52-49 win against Toledo last Tuesday, which killed our Toledo -9 bet.
The clear bet here is the over. It’s hit the last three games and five of seven overall for Eastern Michigan.
Parx Sportsbook Bet: Eastern Michigan -6 (-109) and O 61.5 (-109)
We have THREE. MORE. GAMES. tomorrow night and I’ll be back with a bunch of picks to guide you through Wednesday night football. For now, it’s important we get off on the right foot Tuesday night. It’s go time.
