Jason Kelce, a guy who understands this city, talks playing in Philadelphia and Ben Simmons

Jason Kelce spoke with the media today on a variety of topics. The most notable topic came when talking about being an athlete in the city of Philadelphia. We have all seen the relentless reports from the national media, some of which, are down right lies and at times, laughable. Yes, I’m talking about you Emmanuel Acho.

“You look at all the players that Philadelphia holds true to them and who they respect, all the guys that came before you, and they all fit that mold of tough, hard-nosed, physical, try-hard guys.”

Kelce is one of the most respectable athletes in Philadelphia sports history. Zach Ertz was cut from the same cloth. There are very few people that you know when they talk about the city of Philadelphia, they just understand it. Kelce is at the top of the list. 

Of course, when the topic of playing in Philadelphia is discussed these days, the focus of the conversation always shifts to Ben Simmons given the last four months of what can be described as nothing more than a soap opera. Kelce mentioned Ben Simmons, saying that he lacks accountability.

Kelce continued to say that “just play better, the city will love you.” Oh, he also mentioned that Simmons should work on free throws (lol).

Kelce is obviously 100% correct. Philadelphia fandom revolves around athletes that give everything they have during their time here. Literally all you have to do is give maximum effort and you will be beloved by all. That’s the only reason why people despise Ben Simmons. He has all the talent in the world but fails to use it to its maximum potential. 

Playing in Philadelphia is pretty fucking easy. Play hard.
