Injury Report: Updates on Jalen Hurts, Miles Sanders and more ahead of NFC East matchup

After being limited the first few days of practice, the Eagles appear to be gaining reinforcements in their backfield.
In his press conference this afternoon, Nick Sirianni stated that Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard would both be active this week. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts’ official status is questionable.
Howard has missed the Eagles’ last two games with a knee injury and was expected to play this week. Sanders left their game against the Jets early after re-aggravating his ankle injury but looks to be in the clear.
Sirianni mentioned that Hurts, although he is questionable, has been progressing well. The Eagles’ head coach stated that Hurts had a good practice, and they’re excited about where he is. At the same time, Gardner Minshew took some reps at starting quarterback, but Hurts took the bulk of them.
Following the recent announcement that their week 15 game against Washington would be moved to Tuesday, it’s unclear currently how that will affect Hurts. Likely he will be good to go with two extra days of rest. However, Sirianni could hold Hurts out if he’s not 100% yet since they will have a shortened week against the Giants.
For Washington, things continue to worsen with 22 players out due to COVID-19 protocols. This morning, Taylor Heinicke was placed on the list, with Garrett Gilbert expected to start. With two more days to return negative tests, a large portion of these players could return before Tuesday.
