Capitals vs Flyers postponed due to COVID issues with Washington

According to Samantha Pell, tonight’s matchup between the (12-12-5) Philadelphia Flyers and the (18-6-7) Washington Capitals has been postponed due to COVID related issues with Washington.
We already know the NHL is going on a pause starting on December 22nd through the 26th, but now one of the two games they let continue is now PPD, the other (VGK-TBL) is in jeopardy now as well.
Gerry Mayhew was called up this morning to replace Kevin Hayes, who was recently pulled from practice and put on the COVID list Monday. Mayhew was set to make his regular season debut with the Flyers Tuesday night.
Mayhew was at optional skate this morning and led stretches
With the pause set the end on December 26th, the Flyers next possible game will be against Seattle on the 29th. If things actually do end up resuming on schedule, the Flyers are set to go on a four-game road trip. They’ll see Seattle and San Jose in a back-to-back on December 29th and 30th. Then, they’ll face the Kings on January 1st. The road trip doesn’t end easy, as the Flyers are set to square off against the high-flying Ducks on January 4th.
The Kings and Ducks are young, but extremely skilled teams that have veteran players sprinkled perfectly throughout their lineups. The Kings sit at 14-11-5, and three points behind Edmonton for fourth in the Pacific Division. The Ducks, led by Trevor Zegras, are 17-9-6 and in second place in the very same division. It will not be an easy two games for the Flyers, especially after playing a back-to-back.
Morgan Frost, Max Willman and Kevin Hayes are all in COVID protocol for the Flyers. Mike Yeo has texted all three players and said that they’re all doing well.
If you want to still watch some hockey, the World Juniors pre tournament games start on Thursday.
