The worst Eagles takes and predictions of 2021

♫ Nine and seven and it feels so good ♫ – That’s right, Philadelphia, your Eagles are officially 9-7 and headed to the playoffs. Actual football minds like you and me had faith in this team, but much of the media did not. National or local, it didn’t matter: they counted the Eagles out from the jump.
Being a real and legitimate journalist, my sworn duty is to shed light on misdeeds and injustice wherever it occurs. The Liberty Line is as much a sports blog as it is a watchdog institution. As a result, our editorial team has compiled the worst Eagles takes in media, both big and small, from 2021.

So many Eagles doubters, so little time.
My god that was tough to put together. Just so many wrong people to call out. Of course, none of them were from The Liberty Line because we are the arbiters of justice in media and can do no wrong. However, some of these were way worse than others.
We’re going to start with Chris Simms. Look, I liked him at Bleacher Report, but it’s become clear the guy is a fraud. He left Jalen Hurts off his Top 40 QBs list heading into the season.
That means he thought Hurts was worse than the other 31 starters and 9 backups in the NFL. Meanwhile, he’s a Pro Bowl alternate leading a team to the playoffs. I’ll admit I wasn’t the highest on Hurts, but Simms was just disrespectful to the Eagles’ QB. I wish I could blame his rankings on head trauma, but he hardly played enough snaps in the pros for that to be a valid excuse.
Next, a bit of local flavor. The FAILING Athletic’s Bo Wulf continued being himself and predicted the Eagles would finish at 8-7-2. First of all, wrong. Second of all, what kind of douchebag would predict two ties? That’s honestly the worst part of the whole thing. His vibe is fucked up already, and this just cements it.
Of course, we can’t forget about our frenemies over at Fox Sports: Colin Cowherd and Joy Taylor. The duo combined for some of the worst Eagles takes of all time. Cowherd had the Birds finishing last in the NFC East, and Taylor said the team “fumbled the bag” faster than any team in history.
If you consider making the playoffs and leading the NFL in rushing “fumbling the bag,” I guess you’re right. However, I will give Taylor credit. She acknowledged her mistakes on Twitter last night. Cowherd, on the other hand, has yet to do so.
I really can’t believe how wrong so many writers and outlets were wrong about this team. People that get paid to watch and analyze sports really said the Eagles have a bottom-five roster in the NFL. They really predicted the Birds would only win three or four games.
Seriously, how stupid can you be?
And before you even start to think, “Who the fuck is this guy? Who does he think he is?”
I’m the guy that predicted 10 wins in August. You must be the other guy.
I also still cannot believe this is a real headline:

Not a pre-2021 season prediction, but this was a silly thing to write. And I write some of the dumbest shit in the city of Philadelphia.
Nick Sirianni took us to the playoffs by flipping his whole system on its head. He may be a massive stoner, but that’s my Head Ball Coach.
