Tragedy Strikes Beercan Bets: Golden State loses to New Orleans

It was a rough night for the launch of Beercan Bets. The Pelicans managed to pull out a win against Golden State last night winning 101-96. Although we did not get off to a good start in our quest for $25,000 dollars, there are lessons to be learned in our strategy moving forward.
I made the rookie mistake of placing my bet way too early in the day. I was in a hurry to get the post out and put $25 on the Warriors while Steph Curry was still listed as questionable and Draymond Green was no where to be found on the injury report. It also didn’t help that my dog ate all of my research I put into finding the perfect pick while I was making coffee yesterday morning.
Turns out, both Curry and Green did not play last night.
Still, the game was close in the fourth quarter because the Pelicans are not a good basketball team. At one point, the Warriors even pulled within three points of the Pelicans. If you’re looking at someone to blame, please direct that to Jordan Poole.

Poole typically averages a near 18 points per game and last night shot 3-for-14 from the floor and 0-for-2 from three point range, ultimately putting the nail in the coffin for week one of Beercan Bets.
Unfortunately it just wasn’t in the cards. We’ll be dusting ourselves off and trying again next week.
That’s the important thing to remember about the Beercan Bets Journey to $25,000 is that there simply is no turning back. We are in this for the long haul until we hit the magic number or until my wife sees my bank account, whichever happens first.
Nobody promised us the road to $25k would be smooth. Nobody said we would occasionally get run into a ditch by Brandon Ingram. Why does Brandon Ingram not want us to make $25k? He’s the one I’m upset with right now (and Jordan Poole). Ingram had to take the court and drop 32 points, crushing the hobbled Warriors.
Regardless of the outcome of this particular game we have to keep our heads screwed on straight. Remember, we are betting responsibly and if you think about it, the $25 loss isn’t that big of a deal.
You probably spend $25 on lunch in a day. Plus if you signed up with the Parx Sportsbook app with the promo code LIBERTYLINE, you got this bet risk-free anyways, so you’re already locked and loaded for next week’s pick.
Next Week:
Back to the laboratory. From here on out it’s nothing but winners.
That’s the Beercan guarantee.*
