Eagles opponents for the 2022 season are now finalized

Following the conclusion of the 2021 NFL regular season, we now know the Philadelphia Eagles’ opponents for the 2022 season.

I get it, the playoffs have yet to happen but after wrapping up the regular season with a 9-8 record and second place in the NFC East, the Eagles will now have the second place schedule heading into next year.

The Eagles had already secured second place in the NFC East, but we were waiting on their opponents schedules to be finalized, which finally happened yesterday.

Next year, they will have 17 games and after playing nine away games this season with only eight at home, the schedule will be flipped in 2022. The Eagles will play nine home games and eight games on the road.

Every team faces one division in their own conference and a division in the opposite conference, so for example, the Eagles will go up against every team in the NFC North and the AFC South. Although we don’t know the order of their opponents just yet, here’s the breakdown of home and away games for the Eagles in 2022.

Home:

  • Dallas Cowboys
  • Washington Football Team
  • New York Giants
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Tennesse Titans
  • New Orleans Saints
  • Pittsburgh Steelers

Away:

  • Dallas Cowboys
  • Washington Football Team
  • New York Giants
  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Arizona Cardinals

Some games that stand out include Jacksonville, who could be coached by former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. Another is Indianapolis, who will almost surely be led by Carson Wentz next season, even after an epic collapse in Week 18 where they lost to the Jaguars, missing the playoffs.

None of this even matters right now. The Eagles start their playoff push this weekend and we have the GOAT to worry about in the first round of the playoffs. Eagles will take on the Buccaneers next Sunday at 1PM in Tampa Bay.
