Dallas Cowboys fans pelt own players, refs after embarrassing 1-and-done loss

Cowboys fans have officially reached a new low. After a crushing home playoff defeat to the San Francisco 49ers, a video surfaced of a few Dallas fans throwing various debris at both players and referees as they headed into the tunnel. The cherry on top, of course, was the fact that they were pelting their own players with anything they could get their hands on.
Sounds a little nuts, right? Yeah, I know. But here’s the video evidence:
My god, how embarrassing is that? Hold on, I’ll tell you.
Incredibly.
I don’t care if their team just lost a home playoff game to Jimmy GQ. It’s irrelevant that Dak Prescott ran with 14 seconds on the clock. Nobody cares that the ref “took too long to spot the ball.”
Well, maybe it’s not all irrelevant, but you still don’t throw full water bottles at your own team! They even hit DeMarcus Lawrence with one. He’s literally an all-time great Cowboy. That’s insane to me.
That’s like Eagles fas chucking a half-full Miller Lite at Brandon Graham or Fletcher Cox. Simply unconscionable behavior.
As for the refs… hear me out.
I know I’m supposed to say you shouldn’t throw things at refs, but I have to admit some refs need things thrown at them. These guys in particular? Not so much.
At the same time, they had it coming in the grand scheme of things. I guess we’ll chalk them us a just casualty of war and move on.
Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, they will not be moving on in these NFL Playoffs. Instead, this will mark yet another season the team underachieved massively.
Even with defensive player of the year candidates and All-Pro selections, Dallas could do nothing to stop potentially the most average QB of all time. Even though the Cowboys lost this game squarely on their own, Dak Prescott still shed blame even when addressing the postgame incident:
I kind of get his frustration. It’s got to be a tough loss to swallow, especially when you add in the 14 total penalties accrued by the Cowboys. Granted, I laughed my ass off at every single flag, and I let out an evil villain laugh when Prescott slid with no timeouts remaining.
How many more seasons can these fans take with their team constantly falling short of expectations? They were Super Bowl or bust, and they clearly busted early.
Even with all of that, it’s inexcusable to be throwing things at refs and your own players. I don’t want any “what about Philly fans” comments. It’s tired and played out.
What isn’t tired and played out is the Cowboys total ineptitude:

Sure, we’ve got our own questions to answer here in Philly. The Eagles didn’t fare so well in the Wild Card round either. But I think it’s pretty clear which fanbase should be embarrassed today, and it sure ain’t us.
How BOUT them Cowboys?!
