Rumor: Eagles believe Jalen Hurts is their franchise quarterback

Just a few hours before the biggest game of his career, the Eagles appear to be sold on Jalen Hurts long-term. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that he does not see the Eagles being involved in the quarterback market this offseason.

After an impressive stretch of games leading to a playoff berth, this report isn’t surprising at all, but still good to hear. Russell Wilson is the only big name expected to move, but Hurts is proving that a trade isn’t necessary. Howie Roseman has also shown to not care about Hurts’ performances and still explored other options earlier this season.

Over the last few months, Rapoport has linked the Eagles to players like Wilson and Deshaun Watson but Hurts continued to improve with each passing week.

This offseason, Philadelphia has a prime opportunity to build around their young quarterback, having three first-round picks to improve their core.

In the meantime, let’s focus on the present, with Hurts and the Eagles facing the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay this afternoon. It will be a windy afternoon, so expect Hurts to dominate on the ground for Philadelphia.
