Jake Elliott selected to 2022 Pro Bowl, replaces Rams’ Matt Gay

Earlier today, the Eagles announced that kicker Jake Elliott will now be attending the 2022 Pro Bowl. Elliott will be replacing Rams kicker Matt Gay, who can’t participate due to Super Bowl 56.
After Elliott’s late nomination, four Eagles will now be playing in the upcoming Pro Bowl. Darius Slay and Jason Kelce were initial selections, with Javon Hargrave announced as an alternate last week for Green Bay’s Kenny Clark.
Elliott had a career year in 2021, and it’s great to see him finally get the recognition he deserves. The Eagles’ kicker made all 44 of his extra-point attempts alongside 30 of his 33 field goals.
It was a tremendous bounce-back season for Elliott, having been considered one of the NFL’s worst kickers in 2020. Luckily for Eagles fans, he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon, having signed a five-year extension in 2019, keeping him in Philadelphia through 2024.
If you want to watch, the 2022 Pro Bowl takes place next Sunday, February 6th, at 3 P.M. in Las Vegas.
