Nevada QB Carson Strong interviews with Eagles at 2022 Senior Bowl

Things are continuing to heat up for the Philadelphia Eagles at the 2022 Senior Bowl. After reports about the team scouting Kenny Pickett and showing interest in Malik Willis, Nevada quarterback Carson Strong told reporters that he interviewed with the Eagles recently and felt their conversation “went really well.”

Strong also said he spoke with the Steelers, Saints, Titans, and Commanders alongside Philadelphia. The 6’4 22-year-old threw for over 4,000 yards and 36 touchdowns this season in just 12 appearances.

The QB prospect is seen by many as a pocket passer with a strong arm. He can sling it and is overall well rounded but lacks mobility and has some accuracy issues.

Strong is projected as an early day two pick but could creep his way into the first round, depending on how things shake out.

If he somehow falls into the fourth round, Strong would be a tremendous backup for the Eagles, but he hasn’t shown anything that makes him a better option than Jalen Hurts. To be quite honest, Strong is a polar opposite quarterback than Hurts.

Also, I don’t think Philadelphia could handle another quarterback controversy between Hurts and a man named Carson. This interview was almost certainly the Eagles doing their due diligence, and they have yet to express serious interest in any of the QB prospects in this upcoming draft.
