Daryl Morey confirms James Harden’s 76ers debut

During last night’s All-Star game, Daryl Morey took to Twitter to tell the world when James Harden’s first game with the Philadelphia 76ers will be.
The 76ers’ first game following the All-Star break is Friday night, when they travel to Minnesota to face the 31-28 Timberwolves. Since the 76ers acquired Harden at the trade deadline, it has been expected he would be returning around this time.
If that is indeed his first game, Harden will have had 23 days to nurse his hamstring injury, having last played February 2nd against the Sacramento Kings. The former Nets guard didn’t look like himself in the game, shooting just 2-11 during their loss.
It’s the perfect time for the 76ers to debut their new star, sitting 2.5 games out of first place with 24 games remaining in the season. Since acquiring Harden, Philadelphia has gone 3-1, most recently taking down the Milwaukee Bucks on the road. The team looked great and it’ll be exciting to see how much better they will get with another playmaker on the court.
Harden will make his home debut for the 76ers next Wednesday when the Sixers host the New York Knicks on ESPN.
