Colts reportedly could pursue Gardner Minshew to replace Carson Wentz

After moving on from Carson Wentz after just one season with the franchise, the Indianapolis Colts could be looking for another Eagles quarterback as his replacement.
According to Jason La Canfora, if the Colts strike out on the top quarterbacks on the market, they could be interested in acquiring Gardner Minshew from the Eagles. Indy has been linked to several solid QBs across the league, including Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, and Jimmy Garoppolo.
The Eagles acquired Minshew from the Jaguars for dirt cheap last season, sending just a sixth-round pick in return. When Jalen Hurts went down with his ankle injury, Minshew stepped in and got the job done for the Eagles before returning to the bench.
Philadelphia would likely ask for a late day-two selection for numerous reasons. Having just acquired him for draft capital on a fantastic contract, they won’t let him go easily. Right now, Minshew has one year remaining on his rookie contract, so it would make sense to move him before he walks for nothing.
I love how the Colts are crawling back to the Eagles after Howie Roseman fleeced them in the Wentz trade last off-season. Garoppolo is sure to be available, but I don’t see Cousins and Carr getting moved yet. With the Colts not owning a first-round pick, Minshew could be a realistic option.
The Eagles have been active on the quarterback market themselves, pursuing Russell Wilson before he was dealt to the Broncos while also being linked to Deshaun Watson after he was cleared of criminal charges yesterday.
