Doug Pederson, Jaguars, sign movie star to an undisclosed contract

A few days ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed announced that they signed offensive lineman Brandon Murphy to an undisclosed deal. Murphy is a former basketball player at Indiana State who then transferred to Memphis, where he was a backup lineman for their football team.
Murphy was also just in the film about Kurt Warner that probably no one watched, called “American Underdog” portraying Hall of Fame OT Orlando Pace.
Murphy never really played any meaningful football but stands at a massive 6’6, 330 pounds. Congrats to him on landing an NFL job. With his frame, he is the perfect offensive tackle. Eagles fans know very well that you can coach someone that big who has never played football and turn them into a stud.
Doug Pederson or someone else with the Jaguars were probably one of the few people to watch American Underdog. I’m laughing to myself thinking that after seeing the movie, they proceeded to IMDB search whoever played Pace to recruit them to play professional football.
Now that’s next level scouting.
It could pay off for the Jaguars, but this is the same franchise that signed Tim Tebow as a tight end, so I don’t have complete faith in their scouting ability.
If Murphy does blow up, I cannot wait for the subsequent movie about how he was found while filming a movie about another football player.
