Eagles’ WR coach works with intriguing prospect at NDSU Pro Day

As we inch closer to the NFL Draft, the positional needs for the Eagles are becoming more apparent. After missing out on Calvin Ridley due to his suspension, they still need another wide receiver.
Yesterday, North Dakota State prospect Christian Watson was seen working one-on-one with Eagles’ wide receiver coach Aaron Morehead at his Pro Day.
Watson’s fit on the Eagles
Watson has been a name on the rise for the upcoming draft and has the skillset the Eagles are lacking. Standing at 6’4 and running a 4.36 40-yard dash, Watson is a freak athlete that would give the Eagles a possessional target in the offense.

During his time with the Bison, Watson was one of the most explosive receivers in the FCS. During his final year at NDSU, he caught 43 passes for 800 yards and one touchdown. Alongside normal routes, Watson can be utilized through jet sweeps with his elite speed.
After his great showing, Watson is projected to be an early second-round pick. With the Eagles having three first-round picks in the top-20, they could trade back for him in the first round or trade up from their second-round pick if he’s still available on Day Two. NFL Scout Jim Nagy tweeted out yesterday that he is a lock for a top-50 pick in the draft.
Philadelphia is certainly looking to add to the wide receiver group this offseason, hence their rumored interest in multiple free agents before they signed elsewhere, so it makes sense to take a closer look at Watson amongst others.
The Eagles signed former Colts WR Zach Pascal this week, but they still need to add more of they wants Jalen Hurts to take the next step in 2022. Two of the top wide receivers in this class, Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson recently expressed how much they would love to play for the Eagles alongside DeVonta Smith.
